How Many Hours is Full Time?
"Full-time" can mean different things. For salary calculations, the hours you use change your annual or hourly results. This article explains common definitions and how to use our calculators with the right hours.
How the Calculation Works
In the U.S., many employers use 40 hours per week as full-time. The ACA uses 30 hours per week for some eligibility. For salary calculations: 40h/week × 52 weeks = 2,080 hours per year (common). Use the hours you're actually paid for in our hourly to salary or salary to hourly calculator.
