Fraction Calculator – Add and Subtract Fractions
A fraction calculator adds (or subtracts) two fractions and can show the result as a decimal. You enter numerator and denominator for each fraction. This article explains fraction addition and links to our fraction calculator.
Quick Answer
| Label | Value |
|---|---|
| Fraction 1 | 1/2 |
| Fraction 2 | 1/4 |
| Sum (decimal) | 0.75 |
How It Works
Addition: Convert to decimals and add: (num1÷den1) + (num2÷den2). For 1/2 + 1/4: 0.5 + 0.25 = 0.75. To add as fractions with a common denominator: find LCM of denominators, convert, then add numerators. Our calculator returns the sum as a decimal.
Additional Notes
We support addition; result is shown as a decimal. More operations can be added later.
