Body Fat Calculator – Body Fat Percentage
A body fat calculator estimates your body fat percentage from body measurements. Ours uses the US Navy method: waist, neck, height, and (for women) hip. This article explains how it works and links to our body fat calculator.
How It Works
The Navy method uses circumference measurements and height to estimate body density, then converts to body fat percentage. For men: waist and neck; for women: waist, hip, and neck. Measurements should be in cm. The result is an estimate; accuracy varies. For best results, measure consistently (e.g. same time of day, same tape).
Additional Notes
Body fat formulas are estimates. For clinical accuracy, methods like DEXA or trained caliper use are better. Use our BMI Calculator for a quick weight-for-height check.

It's an estimate with typical error of a few percent. Consistency in measurement matters.
Guidelines vary; often 10–20% for men and 20–30% for women as general ranges. Consult a professional.
